How do I become a member (Credit Card/PayPal)?Join Now!

Joining online gives you instant access to More.Starfall.com. Simply click here and follow the instructions. You will be prompted to select a membership type and enter your credit card information. You may also pay by PayPal.

Can I join by Phone, Mail, or Fax?

How do I Join by Purchase Order?

Membership by purchase order is offered to U.S. and Canadian schools only. A purchase order is a document created by you to request a More.Starfall.com membership billable to your school or district. For us to process your request, your purchase order must:

  • appear on school letterhead
  • contain your school name, address, phone number, contact name and email address
  • have a purchase order number issued by your school or district
  • accompany a price quote (generate here)

Some schools or districts require a W-9 and Sole Source letter before issuing a purchase order (download here).

Which membership is right for me?

More.Starfall.com memberships differ primarily in the number of authorized concurrent (at the same time) users, and classroom management tools. We offer the following membership levels:

  • Home Membership ($35): One account for use by member's immediate family. Not valid for schools, businesses, or other organizations. 365 days.
  • Teacher's Membership ($70): One Teacher and up to 6 simultaneous students. Teacher may use in classroom and authorize one computer at home. Media lab not permitted. Not valid for student home use. No Class List. 365 days.
  • Classroom Membership ($150): One Classroom at school. 1 Class List. Media Lab is not permitted unless school has only one classroom per grade level. Teacher may authorize a computer at home. Not valid for student home use. 365 days. Teachers can establish settings including Spanish or French ABCs.
  • School Membership ($270): One school campus. Media Lab(s) and classroom computers permitted. Multiple Class Lists. Each teacher from that school may authorize a computer at home. Not valid for student home use. 365 days. Teachers can establish settings including Spanish or French ABCs.

Can I access More.Starfall.com at my home, as well as my school?

Teachers may authorize one computer at their home to access more.starfall. A student who wishes to use More.Starfall at home must purchase a home membership. Upon request, we will provide 30-Day trial home memberships to distribute to your students.

How long will my membership last?

Your paid membership lasts exactly one year from the time that you first register. You may renew at any time. If you renew with the same email address and membership level, 365 days will be added to the time remaining on your account. To renew, click on Account Settings, and then "renew".

What is an Access Code?

For those who join via phone/fax/mail or purchase order, an Access Code enables you to establish your account. You will receive this code by mail or email once payment is received. You will only enter the Access Code one time; thereafter you will authorize computers using the email address and password combination you choose when you establish your account.

I have my Access Code. Now what do I do?

  1. Go to the Main Index and click on "Authorize Computer" at the top of the page.
  2. Enter your access code in the field labeled "Have an Access Code? Register here."
  3. Click "SUBMIT".
  4. On the membership form enter an email address and password to represent your account. If sharing this account with others, choose an email and password combination that is easy to remember and not confidential.
  5. Hereafter, use this email address and password combination to authorize other computers at your location.

I have entered my Access Code/Joined, but now I can't log in.

To authorize a computer to use More.Starfall.com, you must use the exact email address and password combination that you entered when you registered your membership.

If you cannot remember your password, click the "Have you forgotten your password?" link and follow the instructions to reset your password.

If our system still does not accept your email address and password combination, try entering another email address that you might have used.

Someone has already entered my access code.

An Access Code can only be entered one time, when the account is established. The person who established your account entered an email and password combination to represent your account. That email and password combination is now required to authorize a computer to use More.Starfall.com under your membership. Ask that person for the user name and password.

I ordered a membership, but I haven't received it. Where is it?

If you purchased by fax, mail, phone or purchase order your membership Access Code was mailed to you separately from other items you may have ordered. If you haven't received your membership within a week of your other items, please contact us with the following details and we will look it up for you:

  • Your name
  • School name
  • Address
  • Phone
  • Email address
  • Date of order
  • Order number (if available)

Starfall Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the website www.starfall.com (founded in September 2002 as a free public service), the website More.Starfall.com (opened in May 2009 and supported by members who pay a modest fee to join), and the website order.starfall.org (where teachers and parents can purchase books and educational materials at low cost).

IMPORTANT: Starfall does not collect personal information from children. As a general precaution, warn children never to give out their name, address, or other personal information on any website.

Information Collection and Use: We at Starfall respect your privacy and are committed to protect it. We do not require users to provide personal information to use and access our sites. The only time personal information is required is during membership registration on More.Starfall.com, for purchases at the Starfall Store on order.starfall.org, or on our contact/feedback pages. This information is not shared and is used only for the purpose for which it was entered.

Games and Books: When children play games or read books we do not ask for any personal information.

Cookies: We use cookies only to determine the number of unique users, help you navigate or set preferences, verify sign-in information on More.Starfall.com, and keep track of your order on order.starfall.org. We do not collect personal information through cookies and do not share cookies with third parties.

Access Log and IP address: Our web site has an access and error log to record site activity and analyze problems. The log contains the user's IP address which is kept private.

Advertising: We have no external ads on Starfall websites.

Disclosure of Information: Starfall may disclose user information if required in response to judicial process, or to law enforcement agencies or in connection with an investigation on a matter related to public safety.

Software License Agreement

  1. GENERAL: This license agreement between you and Starfall Education ("Starfall") sets out the terms and conditions of your online access to more.starfall.com ("the Website") for the term of the license (one year unless otherwise specified).
  2. COPYING: You have full permission to download and copy printouts for use in your classroom or home, but commercial use, resale, distribution, or posting on another website is not permitted.
  3. RESTRICTIONS: The limitation on the number of users that may access the Website depends on the type of membership as follows:

    • Home Membership: One account for use by member's immediate family. Not valid for schools, businesses, or other organizations. 365 days.
    • Teacher's Membership: One Teacher and up to 6 simultaneous students. Teacher may use in classroom and authorize one computer at home. Media lab not permitted. Not valid for student home use. No Class List. 365 days.
    • Classroom Membership: One Classroom at school. 1 Class List. Media Lab is not permitted unless school has only one classroom per grade level. Teacher may authorize a computer at home. Not valid for student home use. 365 days.

  4. TRANSFER: You may not sub-license or transfer the license to another party. It is for your use only.
  5. REFUND: Members may cancel and request a refund at any time within 30 days of payment.
  6. COPYRIGHT: Software and website content is owned by Starfall Education and is protected by United States copyright laws and international treaty provisions. Any copying or re-distribution of the Program or any portion of our software, except as expressly permitted in the License Agreement, is a violation of the legal rights of Starfall Education.
  7. WARRANTY: Starfall warrants that it has the right to license you to use this service. Starfall's total liability and your exclusive remedy (unless otherwise specified by local law) shall be a refund of your license fee. Except as provided above, the service is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind.
  8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: THE ABOVE WARRANTIES ARE THE ONLY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NEITHER STARFALL NOR ITS SUPPLIERS SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF USE, INTERRUPTION OF BUSINESS, NOR FOR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND WHETHER UNDER THIS AGREEMENT OR OTHERWISE.

How do I create or edit a Class List?

Class Lists are available to Classroom or School memberships. If you have a Home or Teacher membership, please follow this link for more information.

To create Class List:

  1. Go to "Account Settings".
  2. Click "Add a Teacher", then enter the administrator password for your account.
  3. First establish your Teacher List(s) for your classroom(s). Enter a teacher name, then click "Save Name".
  4. Click on "click to set image" to select an icon to represent yourself and set other preferences. Please note, your chosen preferences will be visible only when a child has signed into your Class List. After you have made your selections, click "Save Settings".
  5. Click the "class list" link next to your name.
  6. Add a child’s name, then click "Save Name". We recommend entering first names, and only if necessary the initial of the child's surname. Do this for each child in your class.
  7. Click on one of the "details" links next to a child's name. This is where you will find that child's password, and a history of his/her activity once they have created a password, "Me Character", and signed in under your Class List (learn more about children's passwords). If children forget their passwords you can retrieve or reset it here. Starfall can only create histories for students who have signed in under your Class List.
  8. Click "Back to Class List".
  9. When you are done, return to the Main Index, or explore the other tabs.

Now that you have established a Class List you will see it on the right side panel under "Account Settings". Simply click on your name and enter your account's administrator password to go directly to your Class List.

To edit/delete a teacher:

You can edit a teacher's name or settings at any time by clicking "edit/settings" from the Teacher List, or "My Settings" from within a Class List.

You can delete a teacher from the Teacher List. Click on the "delete" link next to that teacher's name. Confirm delete. Please note, this action will also delete the class list associated with that teacher's name.

How do I create passwords for the children in my Class List?

Class Lists are available to Classroom or School memberships. If you have a Home or Teacher membership, please follow this link for more information.

Children create their own passwords the first time they sign in under your Class List. Once you have created a Class List, look for the glowing "Swap User" icon on the main index. Instruct your children to click on this icon to begin the sign in process.

To sign in:

  1. The child clicks on the "Swap User" icon and then chooses your name from the Teacher List, and his or her name from the Class List.
  2. If this is the child's first sign in, he or she will be prompted to select a color, shape, and number for his or her password and then create a "Me Character". If the child already has a password he or she will enter it at the prompt.
  3. If the login is successful, the child will see his or her name and "Me Character" upon return to the main index.
  4. At the end of the session, the child clicks on the "Swap User" icon to sign out.

Once the children have created passwords and characters you will be able to see their passwords and characters under their "details" and when you print their passwords. Their characters will also appear on the Class List during sign in. Remember! Starfall can only create histories for students who have signed in under their identity in your Class List.

I have a Home or Teacher Membership. How can I create an avatar, login, or account for each of my children?

Even though your home membership cannot create a Class List you can set up a single computer so each person can create and keep their own avatar. The quickest and easiest method is to install several different browsers (e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Opera) on your computer and then authorize More.Starfall within each browser. Assign a different browser to each child.

Another approach involves creating separate user accounts on your computer, one for each child. Creating a user account varies by operating system.

  1. Add a new user account for each child. Options to add new user accounts can be found in the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac).
  2. Sign in under one of your new user accounts
  3. Open a browser and navigate to More.Starfall.com
  4. Click on "Authorize Computer"
  5. Enter your Administrator Email and Password to authorize the browser to use your membership.
  6. Repeat steps 2 - 5 for each child.

Be sure to turn off automatic login to ensure everyone uses their own account when accessing the computer. Thereafter, when children access More.Starfall via their user accounts, they will see their avatars just the way they like them.

Why doesn't Starfall work on my iPad?

Starfall's websites are Flash-based and will not work when accessed through the Safari browser on your device. No problem! There are 3 ways to enjoy Starfall on your iPad:

First, open the App Store on your device and search for Starfall Education.

  1. If you are a Starfall member, download the free More Starfall app.
  2. Purchase one of Starfall's apps based on content from Starfall.com.
  3. Alternatively, purchase Photon Flash Browser for Kids, a Flash streaming web browser, to enjoy More.Starfall.com on your iPad.

Why doesn't Starfall work on my Android device?

Starfall's websites are Flash-based and will not work on most browsers installed on Android devices. No problem! There are 3 ways to enjoy Starfall on your tablet or phone:

First, open Google Play on your device and search for Starfall Education.

  1. If you are a Starfall member, download the free More Starfall app.
  2. Purchase one of Starfall's apps based on content from Starfall.com.
  3. Alternatively, purchase Photon Flash Player & Browser, a Flash streaming web browser, to enjoy More.Starfall.com on your Android device.

For Kindle users: Starfall's apps are available at Amazon. Photon is not available for Kindle devices as of February 2014.

Why won't my computer stay authorized?

Authorization relies on cookies that persist within the browser. If the cookies are deleted, so too is the authorization. In network environments where students have discrete profiles or the profiles and/or machines are purged regularly, this can become problematic.

We can provide members with School Memberships a mechanism to allow easy authorization of computers. This service is not available to Home, Teacher, or Classroom members. School Members please contact us with the following information:

  • IT Contact Name
  • IT Contact email and/or phone
  • Your school's name
  • Your school's physical address, including city and state
  • Your membership's Administrator Email
  • Your External IP

All other members, please check your browser's settings and allow cookies from Starfall.com.
