If I see a double-e, I'll say ee. Ee!

A.
No, you're supposed to say ee.
Oh, sorry. Ee.
A drawing of a pair of eyes appears. The eyes look around, and then two "e" letter shapes appear around them. The double "ee"s move to take their place in the word "Sheep" in the title, "Peet's Sheep."
Pete cannot sleep. A drawing shows a young boy lying in bed, wide awake. The clock by his bed says 3:30 a.m. He tosses and turns.
Pete needs help. Pete's mom opens the door. Pete bounces on his bed.
"Think of sheep," says mom. Pete's mom holds out her hand. An image of sheep appears. The sheep run to one side and come back from the other.
"One, two, three sheep," says Pete. Pete lies down and thinks. He pictures the numbers above him.
Then Pete sees sheep! Pete imagines sheep in a field. One has shiny shoes.
The sheep run past the tree. Pete looks out the window and watches the sheep. They all wear shoes as they run.
At last Pete can sleep. Now Pete is in bed. His eyes are closed. He dreams of sheep.
The End The storybook closes.
